Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Bhavishya Sathi website (bhavishyasathiai.com) and the Bhavishya Sathi app for Android. It explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and how to delete it.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: your email address, your name, and the invite code you joined with.
  • Birth details: the date, time and place of birth you enter for yourself and for anyone you add (for example, family members), and a gender if you choose to give one. Please add someone else's details only if they are happy for you to do so.
  • Conversations and readings: the questions you ask the AI companion, its replies, and the reports it prepares for you.
  • Preferences: for example, whether you want the weekly letter.
  • Where you live now (optional): a place name, its coordinates and its time zone, only if you set one on your Profile. It is stored on your profile and used to compute your daily timings — sunrise, Rahu Kalam and the other day windows, the week ahead, the weekly letter and the default place for muhurta searches. You can change it, or go back to your birth place, any time from your Profile, and it is removed when you delete your account. Short-lived cached readings computed for that place expire on the schedule under How Long We Keep Data. Which providers receive it is listed under Service Providers below.
  • Technical data: your IP address and basic device or browser information, which our hosting provider records in short-lived server logs, and anonymous page-view statistics.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To calculate birth charts and prepare your daily and monthly readings, reports, compatibility matches and muhurta timings
  • To answer your questions in chat, using your chart for context
  • To keep your people, readings and conversations in your account, on every device you sign in to
  • To send the weekly letter, only if you switch it on
  • To apply fair-use limits (such as how many reports you can generate in a period) and protect the service from abuse

We do not sell your data, show you ads, or use your data to train AI models.

3. Service Providers

We use these companies to run Bhavishya Sathi. Each receives only what it needs:

  • Supabase: sign-in and our database — your account, saved people, readings and chat history.
  • Vercel: hosting (our servers run in Mumbai, India), short-lived server logs, and anonymous page-view analytics on the website.
  • Anthropic: the Claude AI models that write readings and chat replies. They receive the birth details and chart data for each reading, the city name and time zone of the place a daily or muhurta reading is for (the place you live, your birth place if you have not set one, or a muhurta event place you type), and your chat messages. Anthropic's commercial terms do not allow it to train its models on this data.
  • VedAstro: astronomical calculations. It receives birth dates, times and place coordinates — including those of the place you live — never your name or email address.
  • OpenStreetMap Nominatim: place search when you type a birthplace, an event place or the place you live. Your browser or phone sends the text you type, and your IP address, directly to OpenStreetMap.
  • Resend: sends the weekly letter, if you switch it on. It receives your email address and name, and the letter itself, which may mention the city you live in (or your birth city, if you have not set one).
  • Our Redis cache: keeps short-lived copies of calculations and readings so pages load quickly, and the counters behind fair-use limits.

Several of these providers, including Anthropic (in the United States) and VedAstro, process data outside India.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only with the service providers above, only to run Bhavishya Sathi, or when the law requires it. We never sell or rent your personal information or birth details, and never share them for marketing.

5. How Long We Keep Data

  • Your account, saved people, readings and chat history: until you delete them, or delete your account.
  • Cached calculations and readings: stored against birth details and, for daily, monthly and muhurta readings, the place they are computed for (those readings can mention its city), rather than against your account, and removed automatically — chat context within an hour; daily readings within a day; muhurta, compatibility and remedy results within 15 days; reports within 30 days; monthly forecasts within 31 days; chart calculations within 12 months.
  • Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short time, for security and troubleshooting. They do not contain your conversations or readings.
  • Backups: our database provider keeps encrypted backups for a limited time. Deleted data drops out of them as they roll over.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and our providers encrypt it at rest. Database row-level security keeps each account's data separate from every other account.

7. Your Rights

You can:

  • See and correct your data — your profile, people and readings are all in your account
  • Delete what you choose — a person from your Charts page, your chat history from your Profile on the website ("Clear Chat History"), or your whole account (see below)
  • Ask for a copy of your data, by emailing us
  • Withdraw your consent — switch off the weekly letter at any time, or delete your account
  • Raise a concern with us (see Contact Us). If you are in India, you may also approach the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

8. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account and its data at any time:

  • In the app: Profile → Delete account
  • On the website: Profile → Danger Zone → Delete Account
  • By email: write to support@bhavishyasathiai.com from your account's email address and we'll do it for you

Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your sign-in, your profile, every person you saved, your readings, your chat history and the record of the invite you used. Cached calculations and readings (stored against birth details and place, not your account), server logs and backups expire on the schedule above.

9. The Mobile App

  • On your phone: the app keeps your sign-in in the phone's secure storage, and keeps the active person, recent readings and your preferences in app storage so it opens quickly. Signing out clears them, and they are left out of device backups.
  • Place search: goes from your phone straight to OpenStreetMap Nominatim (see Service Providers).
  • Notifications: the optional daily reminder is scheduled on your phone. We run no push server, and nothing is sent to us to deliver it.
  • Sharing: share cards are made on your phone and go only where you send them.
  • Permissions: notifications only, and only if you allow them. The app does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone or files.

10. Cookies & Local Storage

The website signs you in with secure, HTTP-only cookies, and remembers your active chart and preferences in your browser's local storage. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.

11. Children's Privacy

Bhavishya Sathi is for adults: you must be 18 or older to create an account. A parent or guardian may add a child's birth details to their own account to read the child's chart. We do not knowingly let anyone under 18 hold an account.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Bhavishya Sathi changes. Every change is posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
